I've always loved Halloween. I grew up down south in a city that slept a lot. Octobers in Miami generally have an average high temperature in the mid 80s, and it's not like the palm fronds go through autumnal color changes anyway. There are literally dozens of photos of me standing in front of identically green foliage, likely sweating uncomfortably, but still happy as hell.

Look at that damn smile.

I quickly moved up north to Boston as soon as I had an opportunity to, in fact I needed to move. I obsessed over TV that showed me what having seasons was like. The crisp Autumn air that you can smell as well as feel; the first snow muffling all the sounds around you as if you were placed in your own personal snow globe; the sheer force of a spring that knows it only has so long before the seasons will change again.

Halloween heralded the beginning of all that. It was the start of holiday season in America, but more than that it was when the weather, and attitudes, truly started to change.

People in Circleville, Ohio take their pumpkins seriously.

In that mirthful spirit, since I'm again living in the south, and aging like a smooth scotch, I'd like to partake in some Halloween festivities from afar with my fellow Lonely Yogs (we Logs if you will). Below you will find a poll like thing to jot down costume and decoration ideas. We already have a movie picked out (that can be found here and it looks to be a tie between Final Destination, Rocky Horror, and The Cabin in the Woods). I know we're also voting on days and times to actualy view those. I'll add in an update to the top of this post as that's decided.
