Yogcon, the Origin Story

It was a simple short post, a call out to all Yogs who may have been lucky enough to get a ticket to the first ever YogCon, from a young aspiring paleontologist/conservationist.

If only she knew how much impact this short message would have on so many lonely little yogs.

A conversation was started, and it wasn't long until a young beautiful Dutch-mun brought forth an idea.

Like crows, we murder (traitors).

Little did he know that our original protagonist had already hatched a plan to lure unsuspecting Redditors into her web of friendship. She named us the Lonely Yogs, also naming herself.

Jakko, where are you my Finnish friend, we miss you in WhatsApp!

Thus, the stage was set. First a few joined in, and discussions started off slowly. The occasional night of gaming was planned, our fearless Admin Alex even set up a TTT server for everyone.

The group grew, and then grew further again. At near 50 members the irrationally named Lonely Yogs started to be noticed. Fourth Floors, ISPs, and others joined briefly to troll, and to help (possibly not in that order). There were members from Finland, America, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Scotland, England, even Bristol itself.

Meetups were planned, Spoons were readied, and finally in the middle of August, the hottest weekend possible to gather 800 or so nerds in confined spaces, YogCon weekend began.

All the Lonely Yogs finally got to meet.

Fun how I used the photo that Lou wasn't in isn't it?
Others simply observed from afar.

It had finally happened, and friendships started to solidify. All involved were such amazing people that it was decided to keep the discord going strong, the Lonely Yogs were here to stay...y'all.
