Setup

Before you jump into a round of Trouble of Terrorist Town with us, there are a few things you need to do.

Step 1

Garry's mod (or Gmod) requires content from Counter-Strike: Source for certain props and textures. There are two ways to do this: either install Counter-Strike: Source through Steam if you have it in your library, or download the content pack from Gmodcontent.com and follow the instructions lower down that page.
Gmodcontent.com is highly recommended because the content packs are smaller than the full game and setup is pretty easy.

Step 2

Alright. Once you've got the CS:S content setup, you can't join our server just yet. TTT isn't TTT without a bunch of fun, and sometimes crazy, player models, weapons and maps to play with. You could join the server without any of these addons installed but there is a chance it ends up looking like a pink hellscape riddled with error signs:

So to make sure everything looks and works the way it should, you can download all the addons through this Steam workshop collection. Make sure to click Subscribe to All. Once you've done this you can continue to the final step.

Step 3

We have loads of player models you can choose from. To be able to pick one, you need to be able to open the Player Model Selector. If you'd like to open the PMS with a keybind, follow the instructions below.

If you haven't done so before, make sure "Enable developer console" is checked in Options > Keyboard > Advanced.... The default Console key is the tilde ~ key.

Type bind X playermodel_selector (replace X with a key of your choice) in the console and press enter. Once you're on the server, pressing the key you have set should now open the Player Model Selector.

We also have the TTT Act menu, a cool little feature that lets you dance, wave, do the robot, etc.

If you want to access this menu, open your console again and type bind X ttt_act (replace X with a key of your choice) and press enter.

Final Step

Once you've done all of the above, it's time to connect to the server. Check the pinned messages in our #gmod-ttt channel :)

If you've followed these steps you should have Counter-Strike: Source (or the content pack) and all the addons installed now.

Come join us for some rounds on Saturdays around 8pm UK time :)
